Inspired in early 1998 to pursue a career in Web development, I started building my first Web site. In 1999 I got my first copy of Photoshop and began experimenting with the tools and capabilities of the program. After a few years, I decided that I would like to learn everything I possibly could about Web development and design. I attended college at ASU with an emphasis in programming and took an independent study approach to design.
In February, 2006, I interviewed for an entry-level position with a local software company called Computer Automation Systems, Inc. After a month I moved from Quality Assurance to a Design Assistant position, where I began learning to design user interfaces. A year later I became the Senior Product Design Specialist for CAS and began writing functional specifications, designed interfaces for 2 new software products, and administrated several in-house Web-based utilities; including the company Web site and customer training sites.
I'm always looking for a new challenge, refining the line between design and user-friendliness; form and functionality. I love to try new techniques, read design blogs, and examine the World Wide Web for fresh new designs. I'm currently seeking opportunities in the Pittsburgh area. I'm looking for a fast-paced work environment that promotes learning and creativity.
